Sonya was raised in NW Calgary and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Alberta.
As a student, she worked with and was mentored by the founder of Northmount Dental Care, Dr. S.K. Fofie. This experience was inspiring and strengthened her desire to be a dentist, When the opportunity arose for Sonya and her husband Rahul to take over the clinic, they were thrilled, and continue to work hard in provide the best care for the residents of NW Calgary and uphold Northmount Dental Care's reputation for high standards of care, and positive welcoming environment.

NW Calgary Dentist Dr. Shawn Verma
Born in Calgary, Alberta, Dr. Shawn Verma pursued a passion for healthcare by earning a degree in physiology from the University of Saskatchewan. He then completed medical training at the University of Edmonton and graduated with a dental degree from the University of British Columbia in 2021.
Dr. Shawn is well-versed in all aspects of general dentistry, including extractions and root canals, and also offers general dentistry for children, minimal sedation, and botulinum toxin A treatments for adults.
In free time, he loves biking, hiking, and skiing, and also enjoys traveling, woodworking, and renovating the home. Always eager to explore new places and take on new projects!
